Fish Fry Dinners

7 Fridays during Lent - February 16 through Good Friday, March 29

This unique ministry allows us to reach out to our community with love and caring in so many Spirit-filled ways. We prepare and serve wonderful meals, we offer friendship, and we are a point of connection for those seeking more love and meaning in their lives.

This ministry is huge! And the 100 or so people who make it happen get the satisfaction of making God happy and bringing joy to others. What a blessing it is!

What ways can you help? It’s the same as making a meal at home, just a lot bigger and more stretched out. There are ways to help all week long and at different times of day. Whatever you can do will help.

So, if you’re not yet involved or want to help more, add your name to the sign-up sheets, call the office (716-625-8306), or let Pastor Scott or Louie Bobsein know. Add a note on the sheets or tell us if you’re not sure what to do. We can make adjustments and help make it easier for you to join with others and get involved.

This ministry cannot happen without full support from all of you. God bless you, and thank you all for all you do as we look forward to another year with our Fellowship Hall filled with smiling people!

Winter Youth Retreat

February 16-18 | 7-12th Grade

Our annual Youth Retreat is coming soon, and our team has been working hard to plan an incredible weekend together. We are so excited for an amazing, fun-filled weekend at Camp Findley! We’ll have a weekend packed with fellowship, games, and snow tubing, while we learn about God and grow in our relationship with Him and others.

Sign up today by visiting pendletonchurch.org/youth and for more information. The retreat will cost $140 per person. This cost will cover food, lodging, and snow tubing. Your signed permission slip and payment will be due by Sunday, Feb. 11.

There are also youth who would like to go on this year’s retreat, but may not be able to attend due to the expense. We are looking for sponsors to help with their cost. You can give a full scholarship or any amount given will be gratefully accepted and appreciated.

If you would like to volunteer or have any questions, contact Adrienne Demmin.

“Souper” Bowl Sunday & Pendleton Food Pantry Collection

Next week’s special offering is to support the Pendleton Food Pantry. We’re collecting non-perishable food items like canned veggies, meats, soups, boxed side dishes, and pasta - just to name a few. Drop off food donations next week by the big soup pot at the back of the sanctuary or anytime during the year at the Food Collection Center in the Fellowship Hall!

Beginner Pickleball

Wednesdays, 6:30p, Gym

Join in for recreational pickleball! Learn the basic rules, such as how to serve and keep score, in a fun, relaxed environment.

Intergenerational Angel Wings

Saturday, 2/10, 12-3p, Fellowship Hall

Have you ever considered what life might be like, not knowing where you might sleep, eat, or work? I don't want to consider this thought! It's much too hard to think about emotionally.

"Walk a mile in my shoes." During our February meeting, we will make pillowcase carrying bags and fill them with personal care items. A speaker will share the needs of a person who lives a migrant life.

Please join us! We ask for a suggested donation of $6 per family or $3 per person.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Ms. Becky.

Feeding Hope

Our next meal is Wednesday, February 21

We could use donations of penne pasta, oil, and brownie mix. If you would like to help out, we meet at 3:00 PM to prep and package, and we leave the church at 6:30 to go downtown Buffalo to serve.

Sandy Houck

Women’s Book Club

Wednesday, 2/21, 6p, at the Country Cottage at Beach Ridge & Townline Rd

Join us for dinner and a discussion about this month’s book, Light on Snow by Anita Shreve. If you want to join the book club or have any questions, let Yvonne Bova know. All women are welcome!

Save Your Christmas Cards

Just a reminder to save the fronts of your old Christmas cards and drop them off in Mission Central at church! Your old cards can be made into ornaments/cards for military troops.

This past October, we sent over 900 cards from the Niagara Falls Air Base. These cards arrived in time for the holidays to troops who weren’t able to be home with their families for Christmas. Please keep these men and women in your prayers as they serve our country all around the world.

Thank you for making a difference.
