This Week’s News

Mission Moment: Good Samaritan Fund

This week’s Mission Moment is for the Good Samaritan Fund which helps those in need from Pendleton Center Church.

Pendleton Festival of Lights

The Pendleton Festival of Lights Committee is inviting everyone to decorate their homes with festive decor this December. Our church is joining in too! If you'd like to lend a hand with the setup, donate decorations, or even lend some of your own to the church, reach out to Pastor Jenn.

What a great way to spread the joy and light of Jesus this Christmas season!

Intergenerational Angel Wings

Saturday, 12/9, 12-3p

Our missions for December will focus on Lockport Care Net Pregnancy Center. We are collecting clothing for up to 4T and baby wipes. We’ll have fellowship, food, games, a devotion from Joe & Michele Margarucci, and a speaker from Lockport Care Net.

Come join us - Bring a dish to pass! We also ask for a suggested donation of $6 per family or $3 per person. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Ms. Becky or Ms. Anna.

Feeding Hope

Wednesday, December 13 - Prep begins at 3:00 PM in the kitchen

This month, we are blessed with all we need to prepare our meal to serve the homeless and hungry, donated by the Girl Scouts Troop 70122. We still need hands to prepare, pack up and serve. We will meet in the church kitchen at 3:00 PM and leave the church to go downtown at 6:30.

If you or someone you know needs a dinner, please call the church office. If you'd like to help, please contact Sandy Houck. If you would still like to "give," please donate with your church offering.

Christmas Dinner in Niagara Falls!

Thursday, December 14

We traditionally serve a full ham dinner, and if anyone would like to help us out with that effort, we would greatly appreciate it! We need hams, boxes of scalloped potatoes, frozen peas, cans of crushed pineapple, butter, and eggs. Please bring these items in by Sunday, December 10. If you prefer to donate funds to cover the cost of some needed supplies, that would be gratefully accepted.

We also extend our invitation to anyone who may want to come out and help prepare and serve our meal, not just this Christmas dinner, but any Thursday you may be available. We have a wonderful core group that dedicates their time every week, and for them, I have the greatest appreciation, but there is always room for others who would like to experience God moving through this ministry.

And you are certainly welcome to show up and receive a meal if you’re in the neighborhood! We serve at First UMC, 8210 Buffalo Ave., every Thursday night from 5:00-6:00 PM, and we would love to see you! If you would like more information, please contact DJ Mahar.

Welcome Ministry

If you are interested in helping welcome guests to PCUMC, we will have a brief meeting Sunday, December 3, between services. Please let Pastor Jennifer know if you are interested.

Confirmation

Confirmation is an opportunity to respond to the grace of God available to us, as acknowledged in baptism, and to promise to live as a person of faith. We explore what makes us United Methodists and what it means to live our lives for Christ. If you have a youth in grades 6-12 and they are interested in being confirmed this year, please let Pastor Jennifer know by December 17. We are looking for classes to begin in January.
