Weddings

Congratulations on your decision to marry!

Christian Marriage is a sacred covenant reflecting Christ's covenant with the church. It is expressed in a life-long relationship of love, mutual support, personal commitment and shared faithfulness between a man and a woman.

Weddings held at Pendleton Center Church are Christian Weddings and most couples choose a very traditional ceremony. At least one consultation with a pastor is required before a date is set. Please call our office at 716-625-8306 to schedule a meeting!

Funerals

There are many services the church can provide a family during this time of mourning. Our pastors are available to provide Christian services at the location a family desires: Church, Funeral Home, Cemetery, or Home.

Our pastors will do all they can to be available for your funeral. However, it is important to contact the pastor before making arrangements with the newspapers or elsewhere since there are times our pastors cannot be available.

Our pastors can design a funeral service for you.If you desire, there are many parts of the service the family can participate in creating.

DivorceCare

The pain of divorce can be devastating. It can take a long time to heal that pain, but anyone going through a divorce can find hope in encouragement, answers, and friendship at the DivorceCare group at Pendleton Center United Methodist Church (PCUMC). The seminar is for people who are considering divorce, going through a divorce now, or are still in need of support years later.

People in the aftermath of a marital breakup can begin attending at any time. "People facing the trauma of divorce need help right away", says Steve Grissom, founder, and president of Divorce Care/Church Initiative. "With DivorceCare, the emergency room is always open".

Facilitator Lori Jagow is a counselor at Samaritan Pastoral Counseling Center, North Tonawanda, and leads DivorceCare sessions at PCUMC. These sessions are open to the public. Lori understands the need for DivorceCare having gone through a divorce herself in 1993. "I felt as though my entire world was shattered at the time of my divorce, losing all hope for the future" stated Lori. "Today, all bitterness and anger are replaced with forgiveness and hope. There is life after divorce."

Contact Lori directly at loriannjagow@gmail.com for the class schedule. There is a $25 fee for registration to cover the cost of materials.

It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, you’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before. Our GriefShare group can help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life.
