Turkeys, Turkeys, & More Turkeys!

Date Published: Tuesday, October 25, 2022

We have two missions that require turkeys for their success!

As you all know, no Thanksgiving celebration would be complete without that prize turkey to grace the dinner. The same goes for the Thursday Night Dinner hosted by First Church in Niagara Falls! We will be serving roast turkey, along with the customary sides, on November 17, and we need your help to make that happen. Our holiday dinners tend to have the highest attendance, and seeing how we already serve an average of 225 per week, we could have 250 guests or more for the meal this year! That will probably require 18-20 turkeys to meet the need.

We would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help by donating a turkey! Other side items we’re looking for include: potatoes, stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, and yams. Please prayerfully consider supporting this community dinner and the great folks who attend! We will be cooking the turkey on Wednesday, November 16, so turkeys must be dropped off no later than Sunday, November 13, to thaw!

And please consider helping! All are welcome to cook, serve, and enjoy the fellowship as we prepare and hand out these meals. We would love to see you there! Contact DJ Mahar ((Please enable JavaScript to view this email address)) to find out how to get involved!

It’s that time of year again, and we are in great need of Turkeys for our Thanksgiving Baskets that we make for the people within our congregation, community, and First UMC in Niagara Falls who may find it difficult to provide for their families. If possible, please drop frozen turkeys off at the church, and use the freezer in the side room off of the kitchen. Let us know if pick-up is needed.

Some other items in need are boxed mashed potatoes, box stuffing mix, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, jars of turkey gravy, and brownie mix. There will be a signup sheet at the back of the church with a complete list of needed items.

We will be handing out the baskets November 17-20 and need donations by Sunday, November 13.

Please contact Karen Jaynes at (Please enable JavaScript to view this email address) if you are able to help in this ministry.

Jesus wants us to take care of “the last, the least, and the lost.” Please help us to do just that.

Thank you very much; we appreciate your help!
