Operation Christmas Child

It’s that time of year again! Despite this pandemic, we here at PCUMC will be collecting shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and most of all - love from folks from our congregation as well as from neighboring churches. These boxes will go out to over 110 countries worldwide and be placed in the hands of children in need.

If you would like a brochure and/or a box and are still not comfortable attending church, we will offer an opportunity to pick these items up Sunday mornings from 10 AM - noon at the PCUMC main doors. Pull up, and we will put the requested items in your car!

How to Pack a Shoebox

We need volunteers to help collect these wonderful boxes that may come in during November 15 - November 22, when our church will be open extra hours to accept these gifts. If you are able to donate some time to act as an OCC representative and accept any boxes that may be dropped off during the week, we would love to have you! Visit pendletonchurch.org and look for a link to sign up to help.We are happy to announce that our “Shoebox Sunday” (November 21) is back in full swing! This requires LOTS of help. Shoebox Sunday is where we place collected shoeboxes into large cartons and transport them to  Eastern Hills Church. Please consider sticking around after the late service to assist in counting, moving, packing, and loading the finished cartons on a truck. It’s a big job but is usually done in about an hour.

Signup to Help!

We are teaming up with our Angel Wings children’s group to bring you a Shoebox Packing Pizza Party! This event will take place Sunday, November 7, after the late service. To make this successful, we are looking for donations to fill shoeboxes (toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and clothing) and for sponsors to cover shipping costs. Come as God calls; everyone is welcome!

Look for an item signup sheet in the back of the sanctuary or sign up to volunteer on our website.

We really appreciate your service for this worthwhile ministry! Any questions, call the office (716-625-8306) for details.
