Every month, we serve a meal on the streets of downtown Buffalo for those experiencing homelessness and need. We serve around 100 people every time we go. What a blessing to be able to go out and serve in this way!

Wednesday, September 18

First of all, a big shout-out to Eight Days of Hope.  At the end of their eight days in Buffalo, they had a surplus of prepared food, bread, and lunch meat. That is why, right now, it seems every refrigerator and freezer is packed at church. Much of it has been shared with other ministries and food pantries. We have benefited from providing an extra meal of PB&J sandwiches and an extra meal of ham and cheese sandwiches. Our meal for August was supposed to be meatloaf, but because of this generous donation, the August meal was breaded pork chops and noodles.

So, that being said, our meal for September will be meatloaf, mashed potatoes and veggies, PB&J sandwiches, and brownies. We could use donations of boxed mashed potatoes, canned veggies and boxed brownie mix.

We start preparing at 3:00 PM in the church kitchen. If you'd like to go downtown (and drive) we leave church at 6:30.

A little side note about serving the ham and cheese sandwiches. The mayo was the biggest hit. The little things we take for granted!

God is oh so good providing for this ministry through you! You all are such a blessing to those who are hungry.
