Bad Girls of the Bible - Mondays at 7pm

And What We Can Learn From Them

Are you like Eve who had food issues? Are you more like Potiphar’s Wife and Delilah who had man trouble? Maybe, you're like Lot’s Wife and Michal, who couldn’t let go of the past, or Sapphira who couldn’t let go of money, or Jezebel who couldn’t let go of anything. Yet the Woman at the Well had her thirst quenched at last, while Rahab and the Sinful Woman left their sordid histories behind. Let these Bad Girls show you why studying the Bible has never been more fun! Beginning September 11, join us to find out what we can learn from the stories of these "Bad Girls.” Please email Linda Barczykowski at rbarczykowski@roadrunner.com or text her at 716-946-0124 so she can order your book, if you'd like to attend. Books will cost around $10.00.

Bible Study with Pastor Bill - Wednesday at 5pm

Pastor Bill Edmister will lead a study Wednesdays at 5:00pm using CREED - Exploring the Apostles Creed. This is a study about what Christians believe and why we believe it.

Christianity 101 - Wednesday at 6:30pm

Christianity 101 is a course on basic Christian Discipleship. It is recommended for new members, people considering membership, and anyone who wants to know more about what it means to follow Jesus Christ through the ministries at PCUMC. Each module addresses a general topic in three 90-minute sessions. Whether you've been in the church all your life or are new to the Christian faith, you're bound to learn something new. In October we will be talking about “Getting to Know Your Bible” - October 4, 11, 18 (will repeat February 2018).

Read the Bible in a Year

Join our Facebook group by clicking here.

Choose whether to read the entire Bible or the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs only. You may use the Reflection Questions to give your reading some focus, but this is not a requirement. There is nothing to turn in and there will be no test at the end. The reflections are for your personal enrichment and growth alone.

Remember to let Pastor Lisa know that you’re participating either by writing it on your Friendship Card, e-mail to LisaTaylor@pcumc.org or calling the church office and leaving a message. Contact Pastor Lisa if you have any questions about the readings or you want to share or discuss your insights.

This year the whole Bible track will, as near as possible, follow the events of the entire story of the Bible in chronological order. The number of chapters to be read per day will vary - some days as few as two, others may be as many as five, but usually averaging three chapters per day!

Remember to pray prior to your daily reading, asking God to give you understanding of the scriptures and insight into their application for your life.
